Spotlight On Attendance for February 2018
The key to regular school attendance is parent/guardian involvement. So here are only a few tips that can help students stay in school:
– Make education a family priority
-Build the child’s self-confidence as a student by recognizing when he or she does well in school
-Schedule a daily period of home study time (reading, math flash cards, even some board games or card games help)
-Help with homework when needed
-Meet the child’s teacher (Student/Teacher Conferences are on March 8 and 14 from 4-7 pm. You can book your appointment online at barrhead.schoolappointments.com starting Feb. 01, 2018.)
-Get to know your child’s friends
-Get involved with the school’s Parent Council. BES Parent Council will meet again on March 21, 2018 in the Staffroom at 7 pm
