A Journey into Alberta by David
Oct 16
I love airplanes
That's all I can say. My flight in Quebec City, then I landed in Montreal, Calgary and finally Edmonton. Three airplanes! I had everything. Three different ones: one big one with a movie on the seat in front of me, and a medium one between Calgary and Edmonton. I loved it.
The first thing that surprised me when I stepped for the first time on western Canada land was the ... English language. I knew I was supposed to speak English all the time but inside of me I knew I could find some true French speakers, even in Barrhead, Alberta.
But I didn't even tell you why I was coming to Alberta
One day, I was looking at a Canada map. My country is so huge! Peple say we can see everything in that country: flat land, hills, mountains, even a desert! But I have never explored the country. People also say that this country is bilingual. As I have never travelled to verify that, I only know that Quebec is bilingual. What about the western part of Canada?
That day, I decided to go and verify that by myself. That is when I signed up for an exchange program. I would go live three months in Alberta then an Albertan would come to Quebec for three months. I was so excited about that. I had one objective, beside learning English, and that was find French speakers in Alberta.
